The Journey to Becoming a Top Executive Recruiter

“When I tell young people, you have to take risks because you have nothing to lose—that’s exactly how I started.”
Deepali’s journey began with a leap into the unknown. Fresh out of college, she entered management consulting, thinking it was the safe, standard path—but she quickly realized she didn’t belong. “I felt so uncomfortable and out of place. I quit my job in what I now call a very cowardly way—I literally put my resignation on my manager’s desk while she was out to lunch,” she remembers with a wry smile.
Determined to forge her own path, she moved to New York City with no job, no network, and nothing but ambition. She recalls walking into the city with a mix of fear and excitement, feeling like an underdog in a place where everyone seemed connected. Her first real break came at Merrill Lynch, recruiting technical leaders just before 9/11—a period that tested her resilience and shaped her professional philosophy.
“That experience taught me fearlessness. You’re forced to adapt quickly, make decisions with imperfect information, and trust your instincts.”
Her early career was a blend of grit, intuition, and audacity. She learned to read people, understand corporate needs, and navigate complex structures—all skills that would define her executive search expertise. Over the years, she has interviewed thousands of leaders, influencing careers at the highest levels and helping top talent understand their true potential.

Democratizing Access and Career Literacy
“I realized there was no literacy around careers, corporate culture, or financial basics for students. You graduate, you get a 401k, and you have no idea what it means. My mission was to fill that gap.”
Deepali’s passion for empowering the next generation led her to launch Fearless, a platform focused on career literacy. She noticed a major gap: young professionals didn’t understand corporate culture, finance, or the unwritten rules of professional growth.
She tells a story about a college student who landed her first internship and had no clue how to negotiate, manage office politics, or even read a benefits package. “That stuck with me,” Deepali says. “If people don’t understand how the corporate machine works, they’re always playing catch-up. I want them to make informed decisions and own their careers.”
The platform evolved, eventually reaching parents, mid-career professionals, and a broader social media audience. On TikTok and Instagram, Deepali quickly gained traction with her “truth bombs”—videos where she calls out corporate myths, explains career strategies, and delivers advice in her trademark unapologetic style.
“I’m a truth-telling, spicy, slap-you-in-the-face kind of content creator. I saw misinformation out there and thought, my generation knows this—why aren’t we sharing it?”
Her content resonates across demographics. From helping interns navigate their first jobs to guiding seasoned executives on personal branding, Deepali has democratized knowledge that was once reserved for an elite few.

Vyas Media and Corporate Confessions
“No one can come on the podcast without giving me a confession. It’s about sharing real, unfiltered experiences—success, failures, toxic bosses—so people can learn the ‘how,’ not just the what or why.”
Expanding her reach, Deepali launched Vyas Media, a platform for coaching, speaking, and content creation. Central to this expansion is her upcoming podcast, Corporate Confessions, set to debut in early 2026. Guests will share candid stories of professional highs and lows, from triumphs and setbacks to lessons learned the hard way.
She tells a story about her first concept for the podcast: the idea came after hearing executives repeatedly struggle with the same issues—burnout, imposter syndrome, and unclear career paths. “I realized people weren’t learning the practical stuff. They knew the theory, but not the application. That’s what Corporate Confessions is about—showing the reality behind the headlines.”
Her coaching and content work through Vyas Media also touches on AI, fintech, and leadership in high-growth industries. Deepali believes that transparency about failure and struggle is just as important as celebrating success.
“I want everyone—from creatives to corporate professionals—to see that transparency about challenges and failures is a superpower.”

Building a Personal Brand with Boldness
“Your personal brand is what communicates your value—and you have to be bold about it.”
Visibility is at the core of Deepali’s philosophy. Early in her career, she realized that being a big biller alone didn’t equate to recognition. Her signature red wardrobe, strategic social media presence, and consistent messaging became a way to claim space in a competitive field.
She shares a story about a senior executive who didn’t know her by name despite her immense contributions. “It hit me—doing great work isn’t enough. You have to show it. You have to own it.”
Deepali encourages women to embrace their voice unapologetically. Personal branding is not vanity; it’s leadership. “You are the CEO of your career. If you don’t tell your story, no one else will.”

Trailblazing Through Life and Leadership
“Trailblazing is coming out of your comfort zone and doing something that might feel uncomfortable, but you do it anyway. You’re being seen by others, and that visibility matters.”
Deepali’s approach to leadership emphasizes courage, conviction, and authenticity. She advocates for portfolio careers, multiple revenue streams, and the freedom to pivot across industries. “Most jobs are learned on the job,” she says. “If you’re willing to pivot and learn, nothing is unattainable.”
She recalls advising a client transitioning from finance to a creative role: “It was scary for her. But I reminded her, flexibility is a strength. You’re building your own path.”
Her personal story reinforces this: leaving a secure consulting role, moving across the country, and breaking into executive search taught her that risk and discomfort are often prerequisites to impact.

The People Who Shape Her Legacy
“My dad always said, ‘Sail the ship through the sand,’ meaning keep going no matter the obstacle. That philosophy guides everything I do.”
Behind her professional achievements is a network of family and mentors who shaped her courage. Her late father instilled decisiveness and fearlessness, while her husband’s support enables her to pursue ambitious projects.
Deepali is currently writing a book dedicated to her father, sharing life lessons and career wisdom. “I want people to see that the values, guidance, and support we receive behind the scenes can define the trajectory of a life.”

Deepali Vyas’s Trailblazer Experience
“Getting glammed up, putting on these gorgeous outfits, and seeing yourself reflected as someone who has paved your own path—it’s empowering.”
Participating in the Trailblazer Project was more than a photoshoot—it was a moment of reflection. Deepali recalls the power of seeing herself celebrated not just for career accomplishments but for the personal legacy she’s creating.
Through executive search, career empowerment, social media, and media ventures, Deepali shows that trailblazing isn’t just about professional accolades—it’s about courage, authenticity, and the impact you create. Her journey demonstrates that boldness, visibility, and strategic action are the true hallmarks of leadership.
