During my first meeting with Sonia and Gautam on a cold December evening, I couldn’t help but admire how unique their relationship was. The closeness and love between them was so apparent. I can picture them having long conversations into the night, discovering new things about each other with an open mind to the change that other person was going to bring in their life. It was obvious that these two know everything about the other person. They put so much thought into the traditions that they were going to include on their wedding day, and also carefully considered why they would leave some out. Their love for animals was included in the Baarat, where Gautam decided to ditch the traditional horse ride and dance his way by foot to see his bride at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. Both Sonia and Gautam being vegan meant that they had a special menu that was put together specially for their wedding, and delicately prepared by the Moghul Catering.
You can see exactly where Sonia and Gautam’s big hearts come from. Both their parents were so excited to welcome the other family with open arms and big smiles. I have never had so much fun photographing the events leading up to the wedding. The special moments and smiles come through in almost every picture!

Make up maestro Melissa Herrera’s wedding look for Sonia was perfection. Elegant Affairs made the already beautiful Brooklyn Botanical Garden venue look even more smashing with some very contemporary Indian touches. DJ Rekha had everyone on the dance floor untill the very end by smashing out tune after tune and keeping the sprits high.
